Vol .06:

They say you haven’t really lived until you’ve eaten feta under the Mediterranean sun.
Well, in this issue, we’re sending you straight to Greece... and trust us, it’s giving ancient history meets Aperol spritz.

This volume is your ticket to wandering the ruins of Athens and living your best sun-drenched life on Crete... because yes, you can have mythology and mojitos in the same week.

And if you’ve been craving a trip that checks off culture, coastlines, carbs, and just a sprinkle of chaos… this one’s for you.

To add to the fun today, we interviewed special guest Kristin Chen on our Jetlag Chill Podcast Series, who recently just traveled to Athens & Crete. She tells us a little bit about traveling to these gorgeous places as a solo female traveler by day, and a bad-ass by night... check it out.

WHERE WE'RE LANDING:

Athens & Crete: The Ultimate Double Dip

First Stop: Athens

Oh, Athens. Ancient but edgy. Ruins but rooftop bars. A city where you can go from the Acropolis to a cocktail lounge faster than you can say “souvlaki.”

  • Must-Do: Obviously, the Acropolis... but go early or risk becoming a sweaty meme.
  • Hidden Gem: Anafiotika... a whitewashed little village hidden on the slopes of the Acropolis, where it feels like you’ve been teleported to a Greek island without leaving the city.
  • Eat This: Loukoumades (Greek donuts) dripping in honey. You’ll thank us.
  • Vibe Check: History nerds and nightlife lovers in perfect harmony.

Next Stop: Crete

Greece’s largest island and arguably the most underrated. Think: stunning beaches, epic mountain villages, and enough olive oil to bathe in (honestly, no judgment).

  • Must-See: Elafonissi Beach - it’s pink sand. No filter needed.

Don’t Miss: Hike the Samaria Gorge… but maybe stretch first. It’s no joke.

  • Foodie Move: Dakos - basically a Greek bruschetta with feta, tomatoes, and olive oil, eaten seaside. You’ll cry happy tears.

  • Insider Tip: Rent a car. You’ll want to explore those tiny, tucked-away villages.

FUN LITTLE TRAVEL SCOOPS:

  • The Greeks basically invented brunch. No, really... symposiums were just fancy excuses to drink wine and chat for hours.
  • In Crete, locals swear by raki (a fiery local liquor) for everything from celebrations to “digestive purposes.” You’ve been warned.
  • Athens has more rooftop bars per capita than almost anywhere in Europe. Myth? Maybe. Are we mad about it? Not at all.

💺JET LAG SURVIVAL HACK OF THE MONTH:

Hack: Eat like a local... at local times.
Turns out, syncing your meals to the time zone you land in can actually reset your internal clock faster. So yes, that late-night souvlaki? It's basically medicine.

PACKING TIP OF THE MONTH:

Tip: Leave space for linen.
Greece will turn you into that breezy, linen-wearing person. Pack light, because you’ll want to buy airy shirts, scarves, and yes... flowy pants. Bonus: You’ll blend in at rooftop bars.

LOUNGE LURKERS SOCIETY: MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

This month’s Lounge Lurker is Elena from Chicago, who managed to sneak into the Athens Sofitel Lounge on a 7-hour layover, promptly devoured all the baklava, and declared herself “emotionally Greek” forevermore.
